All boaters should avoid beds of milfoil.
Eurasian milfoil is an invasive species that spreads mainly by fragmentation (e.g., from propellers, boat wake or even paddle blades), so it is important to prevent boat traffic in infested areas.
Motor boats should operate in deep water, staying clear of yellow buoys.
Kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, rowboats etc. can operate in deep or shallow water while avoiding weed beds.
Motor boats should navigate from shore out beyond yellow buoys and back directly, carefully and slowly (maximum 10 kph, or motor off if possible).
Motor boats should not otherwise operate between yellow buoys and shore.
The "Canadian" no-wake speed limit of 10 kph applies everywhere within 30 metres of shore, between rafts and shore, and in shallow water (see Boating).
Motor boats should not motor around the island.
There is milfoil to the west and north of the island, and no deep water.
A red buoy is set out on each side to deter access.
