Styrofoam in the Lake

In 2024, Association members shared concerns about blue styrofoam washing up on shores. The Association contacted the owner of the floating cabin, who said they had been trying to clean up the blue styrofoam on shores and that the barge would be moved off the lake in the Fall. 

The Association contacted the Municipality in 2025, was advised that styrofoam has to be encapsulated (protected), and provided the property address for follow-up. 

There were more complaints in early May 2026 about styrofoam washing up, which were again addressed to the Municipality. The cabin was moved up on the island, with no sign of the floating platform on the lake. There is no other evident use of styrofoam around the lake.
